Guardians of the Everglades®

To introduce the public to the fragile beauty of the Everglades and its unique ecosystem; to honor today’s leadership in conservation and restoration through great art and compelling human stories; and to encourage the public and policy makers to participate in the protection of the Everglades.

A Tale of Two Parties - Same Song

Steven Tyler Rocks the Breakers on Valentine’s Day

Steven Tyler and his band, Loving Mary, rocked the Breakers for the tenth ForEverglades Benefit. Tyler played nearly two hours straight through -- all the favorites including Janis Joplin, Walk This Way, House of the Rising Sun ... We went Rocker Chic, Nicholas with long hair, Connie with pink hair and tons of studded jewelry.

Guardian Paul Tudor Jones called the 800+ guests to action to protect the land south of Lake Okeechobee for water storage to protect the drinking water for 8 million Floridians. Please encourage Gov. Scott to support the EAA land purchase.

The Power of Leadership at Guardians of the Everglades® Gallery

Our party honoring the Power of Leadership was more modest, but our objective was the same - entertain, enjoy champagne and Chef Sebastian’s hors d’oeuvres, and support Everglades conservation. Thank Margaret Short for making it all happen so smoothly.  Focus on Leadership and check out our Call to Action.  Then act. PDF of the Action Plan here.

Ads and an Article - Naples Illustrated

Have you seen our ads in Naples Illustrated and Salut!, the Magazine of the Naples Winter Wine Festival?  If you missed them, have a look and show your friends.  NI also featured the Guardians of the Everglades® in their special ‘Insider’ column.

Islamorada - Paradise on Florida Bay

Florida Bay is the giant estuary at the southern end of the Everglades, receiving the water of the River of Grass, polluted or clean.  Thanks to dedicated work by Guardian Mary Barley and Guardian Paul Tudor Jones, both avid fishers, the bay is much cleaner, and the waters welcome recreational use as well as serving as a giant fish nursery.
