Paul Tudor Jones, Guardian, Philanthropist
Paul "sat" -- stood -- for his portrait recently, and what a warm friendly and delightful man he is. It was said that he is a fisherman and hunter who also happens to be a brilliant investment manager. He is also the irresistible force in moving toward a viable Everglades ecosystem.
Conservation Biology August Cover and Blog - Connie in Sumatra
Conservation Biology Magazine selected Connie's photograph of the rainforest in Gunung Leuser National Park, Sumatra, for the cover of the August issue. Check out the blog, too.
Life in the Florida Rainy Season
So far, good rains this season. We continue to show what's happening with our precious and unique land, working with our particular talents to restore the Everglades.
Documentary - Want to Help?
The protagonists are living men and women working in different ways toward a united goal - to protect the central character, the star, the vast Everglades ecosystem.
The antagonists are ignorance, indifference and greed in the form of poorly regulated development, predatory agriculture and careless exploitation. Will the Everglades provide clean water for homes, agriculture and recreation? The outcome is in the balance. The Guardians provide a model for understanding and the power of leadership.
We are talking with a professional fundraiser to get the exhibition and the documentary funded but your input -- ideas of who might be interested in sponsoring or underwriting -- would be most welcome!
